Edmontonians were eager to learn about new technology last month at the inaugural Edmonton Massive Technology Show. We had over 500 people come out from a cross-section of industries including government, education, retail, and small business. If you did not have the opportunity to check out the show or if you didn't make it to every booth, we have added some of the exhibitor deals to our website.
As part of our mission to bridge the gap between technology and business, we are launching a series of new events across Canada called mini Massives. Each event will give the business and tech community a chance to connect with each other while building new business relationships. BCTIA and Vancouver Enterprise Forum - Serious Cash: Early-Stage Financing War Stories
After a new technology firm receives initial funding from founders, friends and family, the next stage of financing involves accessing serious cash from angels, private investors, VCs and other groups in Vancouver, Toronto and Silicon Valley. In September, VEF focused on the "how-to" of raising early-stage money. For October, they'll build on that by hearing war stories directly from Vancouver serial tech entrepreneurs who have raised millions for their start-up companies.
