PANELIST
Wayne Gudbranson, President and CEO, Branham Group Inc.
J. Wayne Gudbranson is President and CEO of Branham Group Inc. Established in 1990 in Ottawa (Ontario, Canada), Branham Group Inc. (www.branhamgroup.com) is an international marketing and management consulting firm providing custom planning, marketing and partnering consulting services to established and emerging companies in the global ICT sector. In addition to its custom consulting services, Branham annually delivers a series of multi-client research reports on key areas of market opportunity such as Healthcare, Wireless and Outsourcing.
In late Fall 2006 Branham released its report entitled US Outsourcing Market and Nearshore Opportunities (www.branhamgroup.com/outsourcing). This report is the most up-to-date review of current and planned outsourcing expenditures by top US corporations. The report acknowledges the solidification and continued growth of the global services delivery model. It also addresses the nearshore outsourcing opportunities for Canada.
Position on Outsourcing: Wayne is a passionate promoter of Canada's IT industry and has been invited to speak about Canadian IT capability in more than 25 countries. Fourteen years ago, he launched an ambitious initiative to raise the visibility of Canadian IT companies with the Branham300 project. The Branham300 is highly regarded as the most comprehensive database of privately held and publicly traded Canadian IT companies ranked on total revenues (www.branham300.com). The report entitled US Outsourcing Market and Nearshore Opportunities found that Canada's share of the expenditures of the top 1,000 companies in the United States only represents 2.2% - a disappointing share of the market. With Canada's geographic proximity and long standing economic relationship with the United States, this small share of the US outsourcing market for Canada needs to be dramatically increased. This will require an understanding of how Canada's will position itself in the global service deliveray model and with outsourcing juggernauts in the global industry such as India.
