Cultivating online communities: listening, learning, and tapping into your top ambassadors
With Canada being one of most wired nations in the world, you’d think we have a leg up on other countries when it comes to e-commerce. Surprisingly, this isn’t necessarily the case – but there are steps to be taken to help claim your fair share of online commerce.
Andrew's keynote will examine the current state of Canada's online retail climate, discussing trends and sharing insight into what it takes for companies to succeed online and drive e-commerce forward. As part of this, the human component of any business needs to remain top of mind, as all companies are in the business of connecting people. In the current climate, it is essential to listen to and learn from the online community.
As one of the original social networking sites, eBay helped pioneer the delivery of fun, engaging and trusted online experiences for people around the globe. Today, those opportunities take the form of online trade, payments and communications, as Canadians discover new ways to prosper from those connections. None of this would be possible without listening and responding to the needs of eBay Canada's more than five million registered users.
Attendees will learn about:
- Canada's presence in the overall online retail environment.
- Best practices in creating and tapping into online communities.
- Trends and shifts taking place in an age where household Internet subscriptions continue to climb and hours spent online now eclipse traditional TV viewing habits.
- Building online awareness, loyalty, and enthusiasm - even in the face of a potential economic downturn.
