Join Darrell as he talks about some of the things companies can do to make their site a destination, and points to examples of sites that do this well. Cyber Crime & Cyber Security: Privacy, Security and Authentication Issues Surrounding Telephone Usage on the Web.

After a decade of widespread Web use, we have settled on basic standards for online privacy and security, with the occasional skirmish (like the Facebook TOS change in Feb. 2009). But throw telephone security into the mix and there are a slew of new issues. Since cell phone usage can carry substantial fees with it, associating a number with a Web account requires more rigorous authentication than usual. Yet, there are no standards for who is the "proper" user of a telephone. Caller ID is a poor substitute for IP addresses. If you collect information on phone usage what regulations and policies apply? And the spiciest meatball of all: What are the legal issues surrounding call recording? Under what situations do you need to notify the other party? What kind of security and privacy policies are required? Shai will weigh in on these issues, and will discuss why this is a major area where the law has not kept up with technology.

Shai Berger - CEO, Fonolo
Shai Berger is co-founder and CEO of Fonolo, a startup pushing the boundaries of Web-telephony integration, including an intelligent dialing service that makes it faster, easier and less frustrating to call large companies.
